I started work in IT using a BBC Model B Micro to print warehouse labels when I was fourteen years old, first paying gig, and have been involved one way or another ever since.

Early on I became a proponent of Automated Testing and Automated Deployment, this was in the early 1990's using UNIX and although I worked on many different projects that has been the common thread.

Recently I was made Technical Lead for AppDevOpps at BEIS and this confirmed what I suspected its DevOps, not OpsDev. Whilst the industry seems to think its about Developers and Operations Staff working together I think its about using Development Methods to perform Operations.
